Harvey, which made landfall on August 25 in Rockport, Texas, has dropped more than 52 inches of rain in the Houston metropolitan area, resulting in widespread flooding, countless water rescues and several deaths, according to published reports. The Category 4 hurricane is set to surpass 2008’s Hurricane Ike and 2001’s Tropical Storm Allison, two of the most destructive storms to hit the Gulf Coast in recent memory. Moreover, millions of people from Corpus Christi to New Orleans were under flood watches and warnings earlier this week as Harvey’s storm bands pummeled the same areas.
“We are honored and humbled to be in a position to offer some small financial support to the organizations who are on the ground actively assisting those impacted by this tragedy,” Phillips added.
